Terms of Service
Last updated: July 15, 2026
1. Service Description
Prax is a home maintenance management platform that helps homeowners track maintenance tasks, manage appliances and devices, receive maintenance reminders, and access educational content about home care. The service includes task scheduling, appliance and device tracking, inspection report parsing, project and expense tracking, and step-by-step home-care guides.
2. User Accounts
The mobile app may automatically establish a cloud-backed anonymous guest session so you can use personalized features without first providing an email address or password. You may later add credentials to save and recover that same account. An unsaved guest session may not be recoverable after you sign out, uninstall or reinstall the app, or move to another device. If you add account credentials, you are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping those credentials secure. You may invite household members to share access to your home data, and you are responsible for the access you grant.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
- Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the service
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute Prax's maintenance guides or educational content for commercial purposes
- Use automated tools to access the service beyond normal usage patterns
4. Content and Data
You retain ownership of the data you provide to Prax (home details, task records, uploaded documents). You grant Prax a license to use this data to provide and improve the service. Prax's educational content (how-to guides and maintenance articles) is proprietary and may not be reproduced without permission.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
Prax is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Maintenance recommendations, troubleshooting guides, and error code information are for informational purposes only. Prax is not a substitute for professional home inspection, repair, or maintenance services. Always consult a qualified professional for safety-critical issues (gas leaks, electrical problems, structural concerns). Prax is not responsible for any damage resulting from following maintenance suggestions provided through the service.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prax and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
7. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Prax after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
