5 technician insights for the Samsung DDW24M999U Series Dishwashers (2017)

Post-service verification checklist is critical

After finishing any service: (1) Check door lock switch operation — must lock during run and stop when unlocked, (2) Use only authentic Samsung replacement parts, (3) Check all wires are not loose or tight, correctly connected, bound with tape, and properly clamped, (4) Check all screws and nuts fastened with specified torque, (5) Remove all foreign material from inside tub and sump, (6) Run normal cycle and check for water leakage from hose connectors, door, case sump, motors, heater, thermistor, sensors, and supply/drain hoses, (7) Check power cable and outlet, (8) Verify dishwasher is level, (9) Check installation is on flat/stable surface.

Circulation pump clamp cannot be reused — order new service part

When removing the circulation pump from the sump, the clamp that secures the hose cannot be reused after removal. Always order a new replacement clamp as a service part before starting the job. Prepare a new clamp before beginning disassembly.

Smart Install Mode verifies all systems after installation

The Smart Install Mode (enable by setting timer to 17h then pressing Hi-Temp Wash for 7 seconds) runs a complete system check: drainage, water supply, nozzle operation, heater, drain, and auto door open. Always run this after installation to verify all systems. Auto Mode completion is saved to EEPROM. Check n3 information display for 'oK' (passed) or 'nG' (failed/not run).

Heater error can be caused by low water level — not just heater failure

During heater operation, if the pressure switch detects a low water level, the safety program activates and prevents the heater from operating. Since the heater is not running, water temperature does not increase, and an HC error occurs. Always check the drain hose installation and water level before replacing the heater — an improperly installed drain hose can cause water loss during the heater step.
