6 technician insights for the this appliance
SVC test mode entry requires specific button sequence within 3 seconds
To enter SVC Test Mode: while the door is open, press the Power button with the Auto button and Express button pressed down within 3 seconds after turning off. All lights will flash to confirm entry. During Auto Mode, all keys except Power are deactivated.
HC1 heater error has a two-stage detection with relay reset
The heater error detection saves the start temperature 30 seconds after heating begins. If temperature does not change by more than 4 degrees C within 10 minutes, the heater relay turns off for 1 second and restarts. Only if it fails again (another 10 minutes with less than 4 degrees change) does the HC1 code occur. This 20+ minute detection window means the heater check takes a long time to confirm during diagnostics.
Auto Door Open has a specific timing sequence — know the 3.7 second window
If the door stays open for 3.7 seconds after Start Key is pressed in Smart Install Mode, the step display turns on and Start must be pressed again. During operation, if the door opens, it stops (except when Auto Door Open is activated — then operation resumes when door open is detected). The Auto Door Open actuator has a 3-minute timeout — if the door does not open within 3 minutes, the dC3 inspection code is activated.
Check dispenser manually after SVC test
After the SVC Test is over, open the door and manually check whether the dispenser has been opened or not. If it has not opened, the dispenser is out of order. This is a manual visual check that is part of the service procedure — the test mode alone does not provide a pass/fail indicator for the dispenser.
