6 technician insights for the this appliance

Dry+ or Sanitize can be set as a default option to address drying complaints

In n5 Information Display mode, pressing the Dry+ or Sanitize button sets that option to On by default for all future cycles. This is designed as a service response to consumer complaints about drying performance. Once set, the option automatically activates on power-on even if the consumer previously turned it off. The consumer can still toggle it off per cycle, but it resets to On at next power-on.

Rinse aid affects both dry performance and wash time

When the rinse aid is empty, wash time and last rinse temperature can increase slightly. Rinse aid is critical for proper drying — without it, a dry error may occur. Always check the Rinse Refill LED when diagnosing drying complaints. If rinse aid is not sufficient, the Rinse Aid icon turns on during Smart Install Mode.

Use Torx T15 screwdriver — standard Phillips and flat tips also needed

Servicing this dishwasher requires: adjustable wrench, 1-7/16 inch open-end wrench (for legs), vice pliers, Phillips screwdriver, flat screwdriver, Torx T15 screwdriver, and 10mm nut driver (for heater bracket nut). Have all tools ready before starting any disassembly.

DW80R2031US has Hi-Temp Steam Wash option not on DW80M2020US

The DW80R2031US model has additional cycle options compared to the DW80M2020US: Hi-Temp Steam Wash is available on Auto, Normal, and Heavy cycles. Both models share Delay Start, Sanitize, and Heated Dry options on all cycles except Express (no Hi-Temp Steam Wash on Express).
