Diagnostic Mode Pacing
In diagnostic test mode, pressing START/PAUSE buttons in rapid succession can damage the main PCB. Always allow each test step to complete (motor starts, temperatures stabilize) before pressing to advance to the next step.
Door Switch Lamp Resistance
During door switch testing with door open, the BL2-to-BK2 resistance measures 300–600 Ω rather than zero because the interior lamp (LED with 68 Ω resistor) is in the circuit. A reading outside this range with the door open often means the lamp circuit is open — check the lamp before condemning the door switch.
ESD Protection
The main PCB and display PCB are both highly ESD sensitive. Always discharge yourself by repeatedly touching a green ground connection or unpainted metal on the dryer frame before handling. Touch the anti-static bag containing the new board to the dryer ground before removing the board from the bag.
Manual Reset Thermostat
The gas-type manual-reset outlet thermostat (N100, opens at 230°F) must be physically pressed to reset after tripping. It is located in the gas funnel. If the dryer runs but has no heat on a gas model, and the hi-limit auto-reset thermostat tests good, check whether the N100 manual-reset thermostat has tripped — it will measure open and show infinite resistance.
