Restricted vent system — the #1 cause of heating errors and poor drying

A restricted exhaust vent system is the most common root cause of overheating errors (tE, HE) and 'clothes not dried' complaints. Before replacing any heating components, always check the vent system first. Common restrictions include: exhaust too long, too many elbows, flex ductwork installed, outside exhaust hood damper door stuck closed, or lint accumulation in the duct. The 'clothes not dried' flowchart checks vent installation as the very first step.

Door switch insert direction matters during reassembly

When reassembling the door switch to the Frame Panel, the insert direction is critical. Installing the door switch in the wrong orientation will cause it to malfunction and may trigger dE or df error codes. The manual specifically warns: 'be careful for insert direction.'
