5 technician insights for the Samsung DV435ETGJW Series Dryers (2024)

Cycling Thermistor2 has very high resistance — do not mistake for open circuit

Cycling Thermistor2 has a normal resistance of 238.231KΩ at 25°C (77°F), which is vastly different from Cycling Thermistor1 at 10KΩ. A technician unfamiliar with this model might mistake the 238KΩ reading for an open/failed thermistor. Always verify which thermistor you are testing and reference the correct specification.

Do not replace PCB without proper diagnosis

The PCB assembly is designed for no trouble and should not be replaced based on guesswork. Follow the complete trouble diagnosis procedure before concluding the PCB is faulty. The manual explicitly warns: 'do not replace the P.C.B assembly by the wrong diagnosis and follow the procedure of the trouble diagnosis when the micom is not operated normally.'

Lint filter — check before every load, fire risk if neglected

A clogged lint filter restricts airflow, causes longer drying times, wastes energy, and creates a fire risk from lint igniting. The 'clothes not dried' diagnostic flowchart lists cleaning the filter as the second check (right after vent installation). The manual specifically mentions checking for 'alien particles' in the filter.

Live voltage on PCB — electric shock risk

Electric models

AC220-240V is applied to the triac T1 and T2 on the main PCB. Strong and weak electricity are mixed together on the board. Never touch PCB components while the dryer is plugged in. Electric shock may occur by touching these components.
