Restricted vent system — the most common cause of heating errors
A restricted exhaust vent system is the most common root cause of overheating errors (te, he). Before replacing heating components, always check: lint screen clean? Duct blocked? Outside hood damper stuck? Duct too long or too many elbows? Flex ductwork installed? Always clear the vent system before replacing parts.
Thermostat 1 is a one-time thermal cut-off
Thermostat 1 (85°C, 25A) is a thermal cut-off device — once it trips, it cannot be reset. It must be replaced. But always find the root cause of why it tripped (usually restricted vent system) before simply replacing it, or it will trip again.
