4 technician insights for the Samsung DV50K7500E Series Dryers (2024)

Cycling Thermistor 2 has very different resistance than Thermistor 1

This model uses two cycling thermistors with dramatically different resistance values. Cycling Thermistor 1 reads 10KOhm at 25C, while Cycling Thermistor 2 reads 238.231KOhm at 25C. Do not confuse the two when testing. They use different wire colors: Thermistor 1 = Blue/Red, Thermistor 2 = Yellow/White. Both connect through the CN7 harness.

Do not replace PCB without proper diagnosis

The PCB assembly is designed to be reliable and should not be replaced based on guesswork. Follow the complete trouble diagnosis procedure before concluding that the PCB is faulty. The manual explicitly warns against replacing the PCB assembly by wrong diagnosis. PCB replacement should be the last step after all other components have been tested.

Electric vs gas model differences in vent configuration

Electric models

The 4-way exhaust vent configuration (back, either side, bottom) is only available on electric models. Gas models have different venting requirements due to combustion exhaust. When troubleshooting installation or venting issues, always confirm whether the unit is electric or gas first, as the vent options differ.
