Thermostat 3 is an 85C thermal cut-off - not resettable

Thermostat 3 (Red & Black wire) is an 85C, 25A thermal cut-off. Unlike cycling thermostats that reset, a thermal cut-off may be a one-time device that opens permanently when the temperature threshold is exceeded. If it reads infinity, it has tripped and must be replaced. Always find and fix the root cause (usually restricted venting) before replacing.

Try this first

Restricted vent system — the #1 cause of heating errors

A restricted exhaust vent system is the most common root cause of overheating errors (tE, HE) and clothes not drying. Before replacing any heating components (thermistor, thermostat, heater), always check the vent system first. Common restrictions include: too-long duct runs, too many elbows, flex ductwork, outside hood damper stuck closed, or lint accumulation in the duct.

Heater heat wire vibration is normal

If there is a humming or vibrating noise coming from the heater/duct area but no other abnormal conditions exist, it is likely normal vibration of the heater heat wire. Check the fixation part of the heat wire to ensure it is secure, but if the noise is minor, it is considered normal operation.
