5 technician insights for the Samsung DV50K7500E Series Dryers (2024)

Blower impeller blockage can cause dryer to run briefly then stop

If the dryer runs for a few minutes then stops, in addition to low voltage, check the blower impeller for blockage. Foreign material trapped in the blower housing can restrict airflow, cause rapid overheating, and trigger the safety thermostat to shut down the dryer. Also check the motor actuator: is the belt connected? Is the motor winding continuous? Is the motor protector normal?

CN7 connector is the central sensor hub

All moisture sensor and temperature sensor connections route through a single CN7 connector with 7 pins. When diagnosing any sensor-related issue, start by disconnecting CN7 and testing individual pin pairs: Pin 2-7 (Thermistor 2), Pin 3-6 (Thermistor 1), Pin 4-5 (Sensor Bars). This single connector is a common point of failure for intermittent sensor issues.

Dryer stops after a few minutes - check blower and voltage

If the dryer runs for a few minutes then stops, check two things: (1) Low voltage or blocked lint in the blower housing, and (2) the motor actuator. Foreign material in the blower can cause rapid overheating and trigger the safety thermostat. Also check that the motor winding is continuous (rotor winding, stator winding, generator) and that the motor protector is normal.

DUAL vs SINGLE heater configurations — different resistance values

This dryer is available with DUAL and SINGLE heater configurations. DUAL heater: PIN 2-3 reads 13Ohm, PIN 1-2 reads 34Ohm. SINGLE heater: PIN 1-3 reads 10Ohm. When testing, identify which configuration is installed before comparing resistance values. One element can fail on a DUAL heater while the other works, resulting in reduced heating rather than no heating.
