5 technician insights for the Samsung DVE54M8750 Series Dryers (2024)

Comparing model generations — feature differences

The DV8750M (this manual) is compared against DV8700K and DV8600M in the specifications. All three share the same 7.4 cu.ft capacity, 5300W/22000 BTU heater, STS drum, and 75-minute AHAM cycle time. The key difference is the DV8700M has Smart Control (WiFi capability) while the DV8700K and DV8600M do not. The DV8600M uses a Tact control panel instead of Full Touch, and EGI drum material instead of STS. All models in this generation have vent sensor, vent blockage test, steam, and Energy Star certification.

Do not replace PCB without proper diagnosis

The PCB assembly is designed to be reliable and should not be replaced based on guess work. Follow the complete trouble diagnosis procedure before concluding that the PCB is faulty. The manual explicitly warns against replacing the PCB assembly by wrong diagnosis.

Heater terminal removal — never shake side to side

When removing the heater terminals during disassembly, the manual explicitly prohibits shaking the heater terminal side ways to pull it out. This can damage the terminal connections and the heater assembly. Pull straight out carefully. Similarly, do not apply excessive force to the thermistor/thermostat terminals.
