3 technician insights for the Samsung DV56H9 Series Dryers (2018)
Belt must be centered on drum during reassembly
When reassembling the drum belt after service, make sure the belt is located in the middle of the drum. An off-center belt will cause uneven wear, belt slipping, abnormal noise, and potentially premature belt failure.
Fan nut direction — CW to remove, CCW to assemble
The blower fan nut has reverse threading compared to what most technicians expect. Turn clockwise (CW) to remove the fan nut, and counter-clockwise (CCW) to tighten/assemble. Getting this wrong can damage the motor shaft or strip the nut. Fan nut requires 14mm socket.
Abnormal noise from heater duct movement
Noise from the heater area can be caused by drum back and heater duct movement (contact between surfaces), or vibration of the heater heat wire. For duct movement noise, change the contacting part and check screw fixation. For heat wire vibration, check the fixation part of the heat wire. These are commonly overlooked noise sources.
