5 technician insights for the Samsung DVE45T6005 Series Dryers (2024)

Blower impeller blockage can cause dryer to run briefly then stop

If the dryer runs for a few minutes then stops, in addition to checking voltage and circuit breakers, check the blower impeller for blockage. Foreign material trapped in the blower housing can restrict airflow, cause rapid overheating, and trigger the safety thermostat to shut down the dryer.

Clothes still damp -- check order of diagnosis

When clothes are still damp after a cycle, check in this order: 1) Lint filter clean? 2) Home circuit breakers/fuses intact? 3) Eco Dry turned off? 4) Exhaust hood outside opens freely? 5) Exhaust duct cleaned of lint (inspect annually)? 6) Using 4-inch rigid metal duct? 7) Not overloading (1 wash load = 1 dryer load)? 8) Heavy items separated from light items? 9) Washer draining properly? 10) Load size appropriate (too small or too large won't tumble correctly)?

Dual heater vs single heater -- test both elements

This dryer platform includes both DUAL and SINGLE heater configurations. When testing a DUAL heater, you must check BOTH elements separately: PIN 2-3 should read 13 ohm and PIN 1-2 should read 34 ohm. For SINGLE heater, check PIN 1-3 which should read 10 ohm. One element can fail while the other works, resulting in reduced heating rather than no heating at all.

DVE(G)45T6200 models include steam feature and water connection

The DVE(G)45T6200* models include steam cycles and require a water connection with a short water hose (DC97-15249A) and Y-connector (DC67-00324A). Water dripping from the nozzle when steam cycles start is normal steam condensation. Sprayed water is difficult to see when the door is closed -- this is not a malfunction.
