Smart Install mode for quick installation verification
After installing the dryer, use Smart Install mode to verify everything works: Press Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds. Display shows 'SC'. It tests the moisture sensor (touch sensor) and the motor/heater in two steps. If both pass, display shows 'OK'. If motor or heater fails, display shows 'HC'. This is faster than running a full cycle to verify installation.
Normal noises vs abnormal noises
Normal noises include: coins or loose buttons rattling (check pockets), gas valve or heating element cycling on/off, humming from high-velocity air moving through drum/fan/exhaust. The dryer should be level to reduce vibration. If excessive thumping occurs, check drum rollers. For persistent abnormal noise, check the blower impeller for foreign material and the spring plates on the motor bracket.
Smart Install mode — fastest way to verify installation
After installing the dryer, use Smart Install mode (Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds) to verify everything works. Display shows 'SC'. Step 1 tests the moisture/touch sensor (0 = open, 1 = wet contact). Step 2 tests motor and heater (OK = pass, HC = fail). This is much faster than running a full cycle to verify installation and catches most installation issues immediately.
Normal dryer noises vs abnormal noises
Normal noises include: the gas valve or heating element cycling on and off during the drying cycle, and humming due to high velocity of air moving through the drum, fan, or exhaust system. These are not malfunctions. Abnormal noises that need attention include: objects like coins or buttons rattling (remove from load), excessive thumping (check drum rollers), and squealing (check belt or idler roller).
