Good to know

3 technician insights for the Samsung DVE45T6005 Series Dryers (2024)

Eco Dry option affects drying results

When the Eco Dry option is enabled on NORMAL or TIME DRY cycles, the dryer performs an air dry process (no heat) at the beginning of the cycle to reduce energy consumption. This can make items appear not completely dry at the end of the cycle. If a customer complains of damp clothes, turn off Eco Dry first before diagnosing further. This is the most common overlooked cause of 'not dried' complaints.

Gas igniter is extremely fragile

Gas models

The Igniter Bar in gas models is very fragile and easily broken during burner removal or installation. The manual explicitly warns: 'Fragile. Handle with care.' Use extreme caution when removing the burner assembly. A broken igniter means the gas will not light and the unit will not heat.

Restricted vent system -- the #1 cause of heating errors

A restricted exhaust vent system is the most common root cause of overheating errors (tC, tC5, HC). Before replacing any heating components (thermistor, thermostat, heater), always check the vent system first. Common restrictions include: too-long duct runs, too many elbows, flex ductwork instead of 4-inch rigid metal, outside hood damper stuck closed, or lint accumulation in the duct. Use 4-inch rigid metal exhaust duct for best results.
