Clothes still damp -- systematic diagnostic checklist
When clothes are still damp after a cycle, check in this order: 1) Lint filter clean? 2) Circuit breakers/fuses OK? 3) Correct cycle selected (some have no heat)? 4) Gas supply on (gas models)? 5) Exhaust duct clean? 6) Cool-down phase? 7) Outside hood damper free? 8) Duct system clear of lint? 9) Using rigid metal duct? 10) Not overloaded? 11) Heavy/light items separated? 12) Washer draining properly? 13) Load size adequate for tumbling? 14) Eco Dry turned off?
DUAL vs. SINGLE heater -- different models, different resistance specs
DVE55A7*** models use a DUAL heater with PIN 2-3 reading 13Ohm and PIN 1-2 reading 34Ohm. DVE52A5*** models use a SINGLE heater with PIN 1-3 reading 10Ohm. One element on a DUAL heater can fail while the other works, resulting in reduced heating rather than no heating at all. Always identify the model before testing heater resistance.
