Do not replace PCB without proper diagnosis

The PCB assembly is designed to be reliable and should not be replaced based on guesswork. Samsung explicitly warns against replacing the PCB assembly by wrong diagnosis. Follow the complete trouble diagnosis procedure before concluding that the PCB is faulty. The PCB is typically the last component to check in every diagnostic flowchart.

Door reversal procedure has 16 detailed steps — do not skip any

This dryer has an easy reversible door, but the reversal procedure involves 16 precise steps including removing 14 screws (2 of which are longer than the rest), exchanging cover-hinges, handle door, holder-hinge, and guide holder-glass positions. A flat head screwdriver is needed for the cover-holder's cover-hinge. A spare cover hole is included in the assembly manual. After reversal, verify all 14 screws are reinstalled in correct positions, especially the 2 longer screws.

Electric vs. gas model differences in this platform

Electric models

The DVE models are electric (5300W heater, 120V/240V, 30A, 4-way vent) while DVG models are gas (22,000 BTU/hr burner, 120V, 15A, 3-way vent). Gas models weigh slightly more (130.1 lbs vs 127.9 lbs). The control panel, drum, and all non-heating components are identical between electric and gas variants. When ordering parts, ensure you have the correct variant. The gas model includes additional components: gas burner assembly, igniter, gas valve, radiant sensor, and gas-specific hi-limit thermostat (60T21).

Gas dryer safety — what to do if you smell gas

Gas models

If a gas smell is detected: (1) Do NOT try to light any appliance, (2) Do NOT touch any electrical switch, (3) Do NOT use any phone in the building, (4) Immediately call gas supplier from a neighbor's phone, (5) Follow gas supplier's instructions. If you cannot reach gas supplier, call the fire department. This information should be communicated to every gas dryer customer. Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer.
