Belt positioning during reassembly
When reassembling the drum belt, it must be located between the 2 red arrows marked on the drum. Incorrect belt positioning can cause belt slipping, improper tumbler speed, and uneven wear that leads to premature failure.
Blower fan imbalance from debris causes noise
Noise from the motor area can be caused by debris (alien particles) stuck on the blower fan wings, creating an imbalance. Remove any particles from the fan and check that the fan nut is properly tightened (14mm socket). This is a different problem from blower housing rubbing and does not require fan replacement if the fan itself is undamaged.

Smart Install mode displays 'SC' not 'AS' on DV8700M/DV8600M models
On these DV8700M/DV8600M models, Smart Install mode displays 'SC' on entry (not 'AS' as seen on some other Samsung dryer models). Press Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds to enter. Step 1 tests touch sensor (0=open, 1=wet). Step 2 tests motor/heater (OK or HC). This is faster than running a full cycle to verify installation.
