Door or lid won't latch

Once Child Lock is activated (by pressing and holding Dryness + Temp for 3 seconds), it remains active even after the dryer is turned off and back on. If a customer reports that no buttons except Power respond, check the Child Lock indicator first. This is one of the most common 'not working' complaints that does not require a service visit.

This dryer has a reversible door, but the reversal process involves 11+ steps including removing hinge screws, lever holders, hinge covers, glass holders, repositioning the door handle and glass-guide holder, and reinstalling with 10 screws (note screw B x2 is longer than others). Missing any step or using the wrong screw length will result in improper door operation or alignment issues.

When reassembling the door switch housing to the Frame Front, verify the Door-Switch works properly after reassembly. Installing the door switch in the wrong orientation will cause it to malfunction and may trigger dC or dF error codes.

To verify the moisture sensor is working without running a full cycle: enter Smart Install mode (Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds), then open the door. Place a wet cloth on the touch sensor -- display should show '1'. Remove the cloth -- display should show '0'. This takes seconds compared to running a full sensor dry cycle to verify operation. After reassembling the moisture sensor, always verify through this test mode.
