Child Lock persistence across power cycles
Once Child Lock is activated (Dryness + Temp for 3 seconds), it will remain active even after you restart the dryer. If a customer reports that buttons do not respond, the first thing to check is the Child Lock indicator. If the indicator is on, press and hold Dryness + Temp for 3 seconds to deactivate it. This is one of the most common 'no response' complaints.
Do not replace PCB without proper diagnosis
The PCB assembly is designed to be reliable and should not be replaced based on guess work. Follow the complete trouble diagnosis procedure before concluding that the PCB is faulty. The manual explicitly warns against replacing the PCB assembly by wrong diagnosis.
Electric vs. gas thermistor -- completely different resistance values
Electric modelsThe electric model thermistor reads 10KOhm at 25 degrees C, while the gas model thermistor reads 238.23KOhm at 25 degrees C. These are dramatically different values and the thermistors are not interchangeable. Always verify you are referencing the correct specification for the model being serviced.
Gas burner igniter is fragile -- handle with extreme care
Gas modelsThe igniter bar in gas models is fragile and can easily crack or break during burner assembly removal or installation. The manual specifically warns to be careful when removing the Burner Assy. Always support the igniter during handling and never force the burner assembly into position.
