Won't spin or agitate

The motor uses a centrifugal switch with 6 pins (1M through 6M) that changes contact patterns between start and run positions. When diagnosing motor issues, check both the main winding (pins 3-4: 2.88Ω) and sub/start winding (pins 4-5: 3.5Ω). If the centrifugal switch fails to transition from start to run, the motor may overheat or not operate properly.

After installing the dryer, use Smart Install mode to verify everything works: Press Temp + Options for 7 seconds (display shows 'AS'). It tests the moisture sensor (touch sensor: 0001 = wet, 0000 = dry) and runs a vent blockage test. This is faster than running a full cycle to verify installation. Make sure the drum is empty before running. The test takes about 2 minutes.

The Vent Blockage Test cannot operate if the internal temperature of the dryer is too low (below 32°F / 0°C) or too high (above 104°F / 40°C). If the 'Ct' code appears, leave the dryer at room temperature (41-95°F / 5-35°C) for an hour and retest. Also, a 'C1' result means items are detected in the drum or there is a dry sensor error — remove all items and retest.

Wrinkle Prevent rotates the drum intermittently for approximately 180 minutes (lower dryer) or 95 minutes with room temperature air after the cycle completes. Chasing lights appear on the display during this period. The load is dry and can be removed at any time. Customers may perceive this as the dryer still running — it is not a malfunction. For best Wrinkle Away results, load only 2-3 items at once.
