5 technician insights for the Samsung DVE60A9900 Series Dryers

After service — run Time Dry 20 minutes and check for HE/HC error

After completing any service work, operate Time Dry for 20 minutes and check whether HE/HC error occurs. If HC error occurs, specifically check the terminal wiring of the compressor. This may indicate a desorption phenomenon of the pin for the wiring of the compressor. This is a required post-service verification step.

Dual dryer unit — upper and lower are separate systems

This is a dual-unit dryer with an upper delicate dryer and a lower tumble dryer. They have separate heating elements (540W upper vs 5300W lower), separate thermistors with very different resistance values (238.23KΩ upper vs 10KΩ lower), and separate cycle sets. When diagnosing issues, always determine which unit (upper or lower) is affected before testing components. The tC code relates to thermistor 1 (lower) while tC5 relates to thermistor 2 (upper).

Gas valve coil resistances — four separate coils to test

Gas models

The gas valve assembly (25M01A) has four separate solenoid coils, each with different resistance values: pins 1-2 = 1365Ω, pins 1-3 = 560Ω, pins 4-5 = 1325Ω, pins 6-7 = 1000Ω. Any coil reading infinity means the valve must be replaced. Always shut off gas supply before testing.
