Restricted vent system — the #1 cause of heating errors

A restricted exhaust vent system is the most common root cause of overheating errors (tC, HC). Before replacing any heating components (thermistor, thermostat, heater), always check the vent system first. The dryer includes a built-in Vent Blockage Test accessible through System Functions (tap and hold Options for 3 seconds). Results: End/0 = good, C8/C80 = 80%+ clogged, C9/C90 = 90%+ clogged. Use 4-inch rigid metal exhaust duct.

Eco Dry affects perceived heating — not a malfunction

When the Eco Dry option is on (enabled by default for Normal and Time Dry cycles), the dryer performs an air dry process at the beginning of the cycle to reduce energy consumption. The air dry process does not use heated air, so customers may feel the dryer is not heating. This is normal behavior. Drying time can be extended by up to 3 times normal depending on temperature and load. Turn off Eco Dry if the customer is concerned about perceived lack of heat.
