Clothes not drying — systematic checklist
When clothes are not drying, follow this systematic checklist: 1) Lint filter clean? 2) Exhaust vent restricted? 3) Outside hood damper free? 4) Duct too long or too many elbows? 5) Using rigid metal duct? 6) Overloading? 7) Heavy and light items mixed? 8) Washer extracting adequate water? 9) Load too small or too large to tumble? 10) Eco Dry option on? (Eco Dry performs air dry process at start — no heat). Check heater resistance if mechanical checks pass.
Gas valve has four separately testable coil resistances
Gas modelsThe gas valve (model 25M01A) has four separate coil circuits that can each be tested independently: pins 1-2 (approx. 1365 ohm), pins 1-3 (approx. 560 ohm), pins 4-5 (approx. 1325 ohm), and pins 6-7 (approx. 1000 ohm). A single failed coil will prevent proper gas valve operation. Test all four before condemning the entire valve assembly.
Static electricity precaution when handling PCBs
Electric modelsBefore touching or replacing any PCB, you must discharge static electricity from your body by touching the power cord plug first. Static electricity from the resin parts of the dryer or the human body can damage electronic components. This step is explicitly required before any PCB work and is called out in the Caution for repair and replacement section.
