4 technician insights for the Samsung DV45R6 Series Dryers (2019)

Door switch insert direction matters during reassembly

When reassembling the door switch to the Frame Front, the insert direction is critical. Installing the door switch in the wrong orientation will cause it to malfunction and may trigger dC or dF error codes. The manual specifically warns to be careful of insert direction after reassembly.

Blower fan 14mm nut — proper tools required

The blower fan is secured with a 14mm nut. A socket set with a 6-inch extension is required. Lock the blower wheel with a screwdriver before attempting to remove the nut. This is a common area where technicians struggle without the proper tools.

Door reversal requires specific screw sequence

The door is reversible but requires following a specific screw sequence: there is a support screw on the back of the hinge that holds the door against the frame while you unscrew/screw the hinge screws. This prevents the door from falling during reversal. The lever holder must also be moved to the opposite side of the door opening with proper screw installation.

Child Lock persists through power cycles

Once Child Lock is activated, it will remain active even after you restart the dryer. If a customer complains that no buttons work except Power, check the Child Lock indicator first. To activate/deactivate: simultaneously press and hold Dryness and Temp for 3 seconds. This is one of the most common 'false alarm' service calls.
