Belt positioning during reassembly -- between red arrows
When reassembling the drum belt after repair, the belt must be located between the 2 red arrows marked on the drum. Incorrect belt positioning will cause the belt to slip, create noise, or fail to turn the drum properly.
Belt reassembly alignment marks
When reassembling the drum belt, it must be located between the 2 red arrows (alignment marks) on the drum. Incorrect belt positioning will cause belt slipping, incorrect tumbler speed, and improper drying. This is a commonly missed step during drum reassembly.
Fan unbalance from alien particles — not a fan replacement
Noise from the motor area can be caused by debris (lint, small objects) stuck on the blower fan wings, creating an imbalance. Remove any alien particles from the fan and check that the fan nut is properly tightened. This is a different problem from blower housing rubbing and does not require fan replacement if the fan itself is undamaged. Also check the idler bracket bending and bracket screw.
