Dual vs single heater - test both elements separately
This dryer may have either a DUAL or SINGLE heater configuration. For DUAL: test PIN 2-3 (should be 13 Ohm) and PIN 1-2 (should be 34 Ohm). For SINGLE: test PIN 1-3 (should be 10 Ohm). One element in the dual configuration can fail while the other works, resulting in reduced heating rather than complete heating failure. Always test both sets of pins.
Gas valve has four separate coils to test
Gas modelsThe gas valve (model 25M01A) has four separate solenoid coils that must be tested individually. Valve pins 1-2 should read approximately 1365 Ohm, pins 1-3 approximately 560 Ohm, pins 4-5 approximately 1325 Ohm, and pins 6-7 approximately 1000 Ohm. If any coil reads infinity, the entire valve assembly must be replaced. Individual coils are not serviceable.
Operate time dry for 20 minutes after service to verify no HE/HC error
After completing any service involving heating components or the compressor (heat pump models), operate the dryer on time dry for 20 minutes and check whether an HE/HC error occurs. This is a required post-service verification step. When HC error occurs after service, check the terminal wiring of the compressor for desorption phenomenon of the pin.
