5 technician insights for the Samsung DVE60M9900 Series Dryers (2024)

CN7 connector is the key diagnostic point for sensors

The CN7 connector is the central wiring point for all sensors in this dryer: Pin 2 (Yellow)/Pin 7 (White) for Cycling Thermistor 2, Pin 3 (Blue)/Pin 6 (Red) for Cycling Thermistor 1, and Pin 4 (Pink)/Pin 5 (Orange) for the Sensor Bars. Disconnecting CN7 allows testing of all three sensor systems from one point.

Dropped screws recovery via duct exhaust hole

If screws for the power cord are dropped into the dryer during service, after removing the Duct Exhaust, you can retrieve them through the hole. This saves significant disassembly time compared to removing other components to find a dropped screw.

Dryer runs few minutes then stops - check blower and voltage

If the dryer runs for a few minutes then stops, check two things: low voltage at the outlet, and blower impeller blocked in the blower housing. Also check the actuator of the motor. A blocked blower causes rapid overheating and triggers the safety thermostat to shut down the dryer.

Dual vs Single heater configurations

This dryer may have either a DUAL or SINGLE heater configuration. DUAL heater: test 13 Ohm between PIN 2-3, and 34 Ohm between PIN 1-2. SINGLE heater: test 10 Ohm between PIN 1-3. One element in a dual heater can fail while the other works, resulting in reduced heating rather than no heating -- the dryer will still produce some heat but clothes won't dry properly.
