Good to know

4 technician insights for the Samsung DVE60M9900 Series Dryers (2024)

Do not replace PCB without proper diagnosis

The PCB assembly is designed to be reliable and should not be replaced based on guesswork. Follow the complete trouble diagnosis procedure before concluding that the PCB is faulty. The manual explicitly warns against replacing the PCB assembly by wrong diagnosis.

Frame Front removal caution -- keep door closed

When removing the Frame Front, you must open the door to remove 8 screws, then CLOSE the door before tilting the Frame Front forward. If you remove the Frame Front with the door open, it can damage the dryer or wiring. Also, do not lay the Frame Front on the floor as it may damage the door glass.

Gas valve coil resistance values - four coils to check

Gas models

The gas valve (model 25OM01A) has four separate coil resistance checks: Valve 1-2 = ~1365Ohm, Valve 1-3 = ~560Ohm, Valve 4-5 = ~1325Ohm, Valve 6-7 = ~1000Ohm. If resistance is infinite on any coil, replace the entire valve assembly. Do not attempt to repair individual coils.

Live voltage on PCB -- electric shock risk

Electric models

AC220-240V is applied to the triac T1 and T2 on the main PCB. Even when the dryer appears off, dangerous voltage may be present on the PCB. Strong and weak electricity are mixed together on the board. Never touch PCB components while the dryer is plugged in.
