4 technician insights for the Samsung DVE60A9900 Series Dryers
DUAL vs SINGLE heater — different resistance values
This dryer may have a DUAL or SINGLE heating element configuration. DUAL heater: 13Ω (PIN 2-3) and 34Ω (PIN 1-2), rated 240V 5300W. SINGLE heater: 10Ω (PIN 1-3), rated 240V 5700~15000W. When testing, you must know which configuration your unit has. One element can fail while the other works, resulting in reduced heating rather than no heating at all.
Frame Front removal — must close door first
When removing the Frame Front, you must close the door before tilting it forward. If you remove Frame Front with the door open, it can damage the dryer or wire harnesses. Also, do not lay Frame Front on the floor as it may damage the door.
Igniter is extremely fragile — handle with care
The gas igniter bar (101D) is very fragile and breaks easily. The manual explicitly warns about this multiple times. Normal resistance is 40-400Ω; infinity means replace. When removing the burner assembly for any reason, take extra care to avoid bumping or dropping the igniter. Rated 120V, 4.5A.
