6 technician insights for the this appliance

Igniter bar is extremely fragile

When removing the gas burner assembly, the Igniter Bar is very easy to break. The manual explicitly warns 'Fragile. Handle with care.' Take extreme care when removing the burner assembly to avoid damage to the igniter. If you break it during service, it will need to be replaced, adding cost and time to the repair.

Smart Install mode for verifying installation and vent condition

After installing the dryer, use Smart Install mode to verify everything works: Press Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds. It tests the moisture sensor (touch sensor) and runs a vent blockage test. Warning codes C8/C80, C9/C90, Ct indicate vent issues of increasing severity. End or 0 means pass. This is faster than running a full cycle to verify installation and provides specific vent diagnostics.

Smart Install mode for verifying installation

After installing the dryer, use Smart Install mode to verify everything works: Press Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds. It tests the moisture sensor (touch sensor — '0' for open, '1' for wet) and runs a vent blockage test. This is faster and more thorough than running a full cycle to verify installation. If 'NG' appears during testing, redo from Step 1. Also, pressing Dryness during 'AS' display will show the S/W version.

Smart Install — the best post-installation verification tool

After installing the dryer, use Smart Install mode to verify everything works: Press Adjust Time Up + Temp for 7 seconds. It tests the moisture sensor (touch sensor) and runs a vent blockage test. The vent blockage test takes about 2 minutes and gives specific results (End/0 = OK, C8/C80 = 80% blocked, C9/C90 = 90% blocked). This is faster and more thorough than running a full drying cycle to verify installation.
