LG Dishwashers

Error Code HE

Heater Error

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: HE

What This Means

Wiring connection to heater disconnected; Inlet water temperature very high (over 185°F / 85°C); Thermistor damaged; Heater element faulty; Controller (main PCB) damaged; Relay circuit faulty

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check connectors RL2 pin4 ~ RL3 pin4 to main PCB for disconnection. Reconnect if needed.

  2. 2

    2. Enter Test Mode to read current temperature. If temperature is displayed: adjust inlet water supply temperature to 120°F.

  3. 3

    3. If temperature is NOT displayed: check wiring connections and measure thermistor resistance (8-44 kΩ).

  4. 4

    4. Check inlet water temperature. If over 185°F, reduce hot water supply temperature at water heater.

  5. 5

    5. Measure heater resistance at connector RL2 pin4 ~ RL3 pin4: expected 11.54 Ohms ±10%. If open or short, replace pump casing assembly (heater is integrated).

  6. 6

    6. Check heater supply voltage at RL2 pin4 ~ RL3 pin4: expected 120V AC ±15%. If voltage present but heater fails, replace heater assembly.

  7. 7

    7. If heater and thermistor test good but error persists, check relay circuit. Replace relay circuit or main PCB assembly.
