Error Code tE1

Thermistor of blower housing - Outlet thermistor open or shorted

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: tE1

How to Fix

  1. 1

Turn off the dryer and unplug from power.

  2. 2

Locate the NA6 connector on the main PCB and disconnect it.

  3. 3

Short pin 4 (Yellow Wire) and pin 5 (Blue Wire) with a metal wire or jumper at the connector end going to the thermistor.

  4. 4

Restore power and recheck: if tE1 clears, verify wiring connections between the controller and the thermistor connector are properly seated.

  5. 5

If tE1 persists after shorting, replace the main PCB controller.

  6. 6

If tE1 does not clear when shorted but the short is confirmed good, disconnect power, separate the thermistor harness connector, and measure resistance across thermistor terminals.

  7. 7

    Compare measured resistance to Thermistor Table 1: 50°F(10°C)=18.0 kΩ, 60°F(16°C)=14.2 kΩ, 70°F(27°C)=9.3 kΩ, 80°F(21°C)=11.7 kΩ, 90°F(32°C)=7.7 kΩ, 100°F(38°C)=6.2 kΩ, 110°F(43°C)=5.2 kΩ, 120°F(49°C)=4.3 kΩ, 130°F(54°C)=2.9 kΩ, 140°F(60°C)=3.0 kΩ, 150°F(66°C)=2.5 kΩ, 160°F(71°C)=2.2 kΩ.

  8. 8

If resistance is out of range for ambient temperature, replace the thermistor.

  9. 9

If resistance is in range, check the harness-linking connector for damage, corrosion, or loose pins.
