Error Code tE1
Outlet thermistor open or shorted (blower housing thermistor #1)
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tE1
How to Fix
- 1
Turn off the dryer.
- 2
Enter diagnostic test mode (press POWER while pressing MORE TIME and LESS TIME simultaneously) to confirm tE1 is displayed.
- 3
Unplug the dryer and discharge voltage (contact metal plug of power cord with ground).
- 4
Disconnect the NA6 connector (6-pin) from the main PCB.
- 5
Measure resistance between NA6-1 (YL) and NA6-4 (BL).
- 6
Compare reading to thermistor resistance table: at 50°F=18.0 kΩ, 60°F=14.2 kΩ, 70°F=9.3 kΩ, 80°F=11.7 kΩ, 90°F=7.7 kΩ, 100°F=6.2 kΩ, 110°F=5.2 kΩ, 120°F=4.3 kΩ, 130°F=2.9 kΩ, 140°F=3.0 kΩ, 150°F=2.5 kΩ, 160°F=2.2 kΩ.
- 7
If PCB connector resistance matches chart but error persists: replace the main PCB.
- 8
If PCB connector resistance does not match: separate harness from thermistor assembly connector and measure resistance directly at thermistor terminals.
- 9
If thermistor resistance is out of range: replace the thermistor.
- 10
If thermistor resistance is in range: inspect and reseat harness-linking connector between thermistor and main PCB.
