Oven sensor shorted

What This Means

Oven temperature sensor shorted internally; Wiring harness short between sensor and PCB; Moisture or contamination on sensor connector

How to Fix

1. 1

   Press CLEAR/OFF key to cancel operation; allow oven to cool one hour

2. 2

   Disconnect power to the range

3. 3

   Remove panel and connections on oven sensor

4. 4

   Check sensor resistance at room temperature — should be approximately 1,090 Ohms (1.09 kOhm); if shorted (near zero), replace sensor

5. 5

   Check wire continuity for shorts in harness

6. 6

   Check Power PCB connector CN31 for looseness or terminal damage

7. 7

   If wiring is normal, replace PCB

8. 8

   Enter test mode after repair to confirm sensor reads 65F–95F at room temperature
