Shorted Sensor Error

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: F-2

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Unplug the unit.

  2. 2

Check if the sensor connector is disconnected or loose — check sensor connection and CN10 of Main PCB. If loose, reconnect; if harness is defective, replace or fix.

  3. 3

Measure resistance of thermistor at pins 5 and 6 of CN6 of Main PCB. Normal = approximately 1.09 kΩ at 25°C (77°F). If abnormal (shorted = near 0Ω), replace the defective thermistor.

  4. 4

If thermistor resistance is normal, plug in the unit and enter test mode (press any button with Mode knob in Off, then press '4' and '6' simultaneously for 1 second, then press '4' and '6' simultaneously for 1 second again). Check current temp display — normal thermistor value at room temp is 70°F to 90°F.

  5. 5

If thermistor value is normal in test mode, replace the Relay PCB. If problem persists after Relay PCB replacement, replace the Main PCB.
