Icing Fan Motor Error (Ice Compartment Fan)

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Reset the unit and enter Test Mode 1 (push test button 1 time).

  2. 2

    2. Measure icing fan motor supply voltage at CON4 Pin 12 to Pin 11. Expected: 11.4 to 12.6 V. If voltage is absent or out of range, replace Main PCB.

  3. 3

    3. Open the freezer door and check for airflow from ice compartment fan. If airflow is present, proceed to step 4. If no airflow, check for mechanical obstruction.

  4. 4

    4. Measure fan motor feedback voltage at CON4 Pin 10 to Pin 11. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (stuck), fan motor or circuit is faulty.

  5. 5

    5. Check fan motor mechanically: rotate by hand. If sticky or obstructed, replace the fan motor.

  6. 6

    6. Measure fan PWM voltage at CON4 Pin 9 to Pin 11. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (stuck), replace Main PCB.

  7. 7

    7. If fan feedback voltage is not 0 or 5 V but fan is not spinning, replace the fan motor.

  8. 8

    8. If all voltages are normal and fan spins freely, explain to customer (intermittent condition).
