Ice Maker Kit Defect — Ice Maker Motor Malfunction
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
Malfunction of in-door ice maker motor; Loose wiring harness to ice maker motor
How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Enter test mode by pressing Ice Plus + Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- 2
Step 2: Check ice maker motor for working sound and visual operation.
- 3
Step 3: Measure sub PCB resistance at CON1 pins (U-V, V-W, W-U) — expected 2.37 to 2.73 ohm each.
- 4
Step 4: Check sub PCB voltage at CON1 pin 34-33 — expected 21.6 to 26.4V.
- 5
Step 5: If motor resistance is out of range, replace ice maker assembly (Dispenser Assembly Ice).
- 6
Step 6: If voltage at main PCB side is correct but sub PCB voltage is wrong, harness open circuit is suspected — inspect and repair harness.
- 7
Step 7: If all values are correct but error persists, replace the Case Assembly PCB (Sub PCB, Loc. 612A).
- 8
Step 8: If main PCB voltage is wrong, replace Main PCB (Loc. 500A).
