Error Code E CH
High side cycle leakage
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
Use LG SVC App Step 1 to determine if issue is sealed system, compressor, or normal (customer emotional fault).
- 2
If no SVC App: use temperature gun to check evaporator temperature.
- 3
Check voltage to determine if PCB is faulty (change PCB if bad).
- 4
Check return time to equilibrium pressure after measuring high pressure (drier) and low pressure (comp process pipe). If return takes more than 15 minutes: restriction is likely.
- 5
Check equilibrium pressure. If above 20 psi: compressor is likely faulty. If below 20 psi: refrigerant has leaked.
- 6
Perform refrigerant leak test using refrigerant or nitrogen on high-pressure parts (condenser, drier, etc.).
- 7
If no leak found on high side: check low-pressure parts (evaporator, suction pipe).
- 8
Replace defective parts with new drier. Always replace drier when opening sealed system.
- 9
After repair, error code clears automatically when freezer reaches 14°F or below.
- 10
If leak cannot be located: install UV drier for UV dye leak detection on next visit.
