Defect of freezer sensor
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
Check CON8 22nd-to-21st-pin: if reading is 0 Ω the sensor is shorted — replace freezer sensor.
- 2
Check CON8 22nd-to-21st-pin: if reading is OL/open — go to step 3.
- 3
Check sensor resistance against temperature table (e.g., 8 kΩ at 32°F / 0°C, 10 kΩ at 23°F / -5°C, 13 kΩ at 14°F / -10°C, 17 kΩ at 5°F / -15°C, 23 kΩ at -4°F / -20°C, 30 kΩ at -13°F / -25°C, 40 kΩ at -22°F / -30°C). If resistance is out of range, replace sensor.
- 4
If resistance is in range, check connector between Main PCB and sensor for loose/disconnected condition — reconnect or repair.
- 5
If connector is OK, check sensor wiring harness continuity.
- 6
If all wiring and connector checks pass and error persists, explain to customer (intermittent contact) or replace refrigerator main PCB.
