What This Means

Heater is out of order; Thermistor is out of order; Hot water supply temperature exceeds 80 degrees C; Main PBA defect

What actually causes this:

Your home's water heater is set too high, sending overly hot water to the dishwasher

First Thing to Check

Check your water heater temperature setting — it should be 120 degrees F or lower

How to Fix

    1. Check the hot water connections for the inlet valve

  2. 2

    2. Check the operation of the thermistor — see Temperature Sensor Check diagnostics

  3. 3

    3. Check the operation of the heater — see Heater Check diagnostics

  4. 4

    4. If water temperature is normal and thermistor is normal, replace Main PBA
