What This Means
Restricted vent system causing excessive heat buildup; Thermistor resistance out of range; Heater malfunction; Thermostat failure
What actually causes this:
Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.
First Thing to Check
Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

1. Check exhaust vent system for restrictions or blockages

2. Measure thermistor resistance: should be 10KΩ at 25°C (77°F)

3. Check thermostat resistance: should be < 1Ω (infinity means replace)

4. Check heater resistance: DUAL heater — 13Ω between PIN 2-3, 34Ω between PIN 1-2

5. If resistance is infinity on heater, replace heater assembly
