What actually causes this:
The switch that detects whether the door is open or closed has worn out or its connection came loose.

Open the door, check for anything stuck in the door latch area, then close it firmly and try again.

2. Test door switch: Door open -- COM-NC (pins 1-3) should be < 1 Ohm, COM-NO (pins 1-2) should be infinity

3. Test door switch: Door closed -- COM-NC (pins 1-3) should be infinity, COM-NO (pins 1-2) should be < 1 Ohm

4. If switch readings are inconsistent, replace door switch
