What This Means
Restricted vent system causing excessive heat buildup; Thermistor resistance out of range; Heater malfunction; Thermostat failure; PCB fault
What actually causes this:
Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.
First Thing to Check
Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

2. Check exhaust vent system for restrictions or blockages

3. Measure thermistor resistance: 10KOhm at 25 degrees C for electric, 238.23KOhm at 25 degrees C for gas

4. Check thermostat 1 resistance: should be < 1Ohm (infinity means replace)

5. Check thermostat 2 resistance: should be < 1Ohm (infinity means replace)

6. Check thermostat 3 (thermal cut-off) resistance: should be < 1Ohm (infinity means replace)

7. Check heater resistance: DUAL heater -- 13Ohm (PIN 2-3), 34Ohm (PIN 1-2); SINGLE heater -- 10Ohm (PIN 1-3)

8. If resistance is infinity on heater, replace heater assembly
