Defrost heater wiring broken; Heater element burned out or shorted; Bimetal thermostat failure; Thermostat protector open circuit

What actually causes this:

Defrost heater element burned out or thermostat stuck open

First Thing to Check

Check for frost and ice buildup on freezer evaporator coils

Defrost Heater (FRE) AC 120V, 230W / AC 230V, 230WF/R Bimetal-thermo Protector AC 250V / 3A

How to Fix

    1. Power off refrigerator

  2. 2

    2. Separate MAIN PCB CN20 wire from PCB

  3. 3

    3. Measure resistance between CN20-6 and CN20-8

  4. 4

    4. Expected resistance: 63(230) ohm ± 7% depending on input power
