What This Means

Washing heater short-circuited or wire disconnected; Heater contact error; Temperature sensor fault; Water frozen causing water level sensor to operate without water; PBA relay malfunction; Drying heater short-circuited

What actually causes this:

Often a faulty temperature sensor or a loose wire at the heater connection, sometimes triggered in freezing conditions.

First Thing to Check

Unplug the washer, wait one minute, plug it back in, and try again.

    1. Check connection between wire and heater

    2. If wash heater faulty, replace it (Type 1)

    3. If heater OK, replace wash-thermistor (Type 2)
