Freezer Fan Motor Error
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
1. Reset the unit and enter Test Mode 1 (push test button 1 time).
- 2
2. Measure fan motor supply voltage at CON4 Pin 20 to Pin 19. Expected: 11.4 to 12.6 V. If voltage is absent or out of range, replace Main PCB.
- 3
3. Open the freezer door and check for airflow from the evaporator fan. If airflow is strong (windy), proceed to step 4. If no airflow, proceed to step 5.
- 4
4. Measure fan motor feedback voltage at CON4 Pin 18 to Pin 19. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (fixed, not varying), fan motor feedback circuit is faulty.
- 5
5. Check for fan motor mechanical binding: rotate fan blade by hand. If fan feels sticky or obstructed, replace the fan motor.
- 6
6. Measure fan PWM voltage at CON4 Pin 47 to Pin 19. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (stuck), replace Main PCB.
- 7
7. If fan feedback voltage is not 0 or 5 V (is varying normally) but fan is not spinning, replace the fan motor.
- 8
8. If all voltages are normal and fan spins freely, explain to customer (intermittent condition).
