Cooling Off Mode Persists Through Power Cycles

Cooling Off mode (O-FF display) is maintained even after the refrigerator is unplugged and replugged. This can be a source of confusion if a unit is returned from storage or showroom use — the refrigerator will appear to power on normally but will not cool. Always check for O-FF before assuming a compressor or cooling system fault.

Defrost Timing and Emergency Temperature Limits

Defrost sensor termination temps: defrost stops when sensor reads above 50°F(10°C) for F and 53.6°F(12°C) for R. There is then a 12±1 minute pause before returning to cooling. If the fridge sensor reads above 149°F(65°C) during Cooling Off mode, the refrigerator automatically cancels Cooling Off and resumes compressor operation with no buzzer — this is normal protective behavior.

EEPROM Option Settings Can Cause Calibration Drift

The option setting function (Alarm Key + Fridge Key for 12 seconds) can shift the standard operating temperature of every zone by up to ±7.5°F (±3.5°C) from factory calibration. If a refrigerator is chronically too warm or too cold and no fault codes are present, check option settings before replacing parts. Factory default for all options is 0.

Twin Cooling System — Independent Evaporators

This model uses two completely independent evaporators (Twin Cooling System) — one for the freezer and one for the refrigerator. Food odor from the refrigerator does NOT transfer to the freezer due to entirely separate airflow paths. When diagnosing cooling issues, confirm which compartment is affected before inspecting the refrigerant cycle, as each evaporator has its own defrost heater and temperature sensor.
