Won't fill with water

The drain pump specifically accumulates rubber bands, paper bills, cotton debris, hair pins, and coins. These common items from pockets and laundry are the leading cause of 5C drain errors. Technicians should proactively check pockets before washing and customers should be educated about this.

In winter, frozen water in the supply lines, drain hose, or pump can trigger at least three different error codes: 4C (no water supply), 5C (cannot drain), and OC (overflow because the water supply valve gets stuck). When diagnosing winter service calls, always check for frozen water before replacing parts.

When hot and cold water supply hoses are swapped (connected to the wrong faucets), the washer will receive hot water when it expects cold. During dry cycles, water above 70°C triggers a 4C2 error. During Wool or Lingerie courses, water above 50°C triggers the same error. Always verify hose connections match the correct inlet.

The nozzle-diaphragm can be engaged in the opposite direction during reassembly, and the rubber packaging can be accidentally omitted. Both mistakes cause water leakage (LC error) that appears to come from internal connections rather than obvious hose leaks, making the root cause difficult to diagnose.
